Three books penned by film-director Sohanlal have been published. Thebooks that have hit the stands are- ‘Orkkuka Vallappozhum’(screenplay), ‘Neermathalathinte Pookkal’ (screenplay) and ‘AakashavumEnte Pranayavum’ (Anthology of poems).

It’s the Kerala Bhasha Institute that brings out the screenplay of ‘Orkkuka Vallappozhum’, Sohanlal’s debut feature film. Neermathalathinte Pootkkal’, Sohanlal’s shortmovie which had won rave reviews and appreciation, now comes out in the form of a book,comprising of the full screenplay, an interview with Kamala Suraiyya on whose writings the film is based and a preface by Dr. George Onnakkoor. Aakashavum Ente Pranayavum’ is a compilation of poems that Sohanlal had written in his adolescent years, especially during the 1990’s. In an elaborate and impressive preface to the anthology, penned by the author’s college mate and friend Dr. G.S.Pradeep, there are ample references to the romantic aura that was characteristic of the period in which these poems took birth.
